In Transit 'Women's Bazaar Zaatari' - winner of the IDeA Competition

In Transit students Maria Årthun and Nicole Lilly Gros’ entry ‘Women’s Bazaar in Zaatari’ was selected as the winner of the ‘Place and Displacement – a Marketplace in Refugee Settlements’ competition organized by the Non-Governmental Organization International Development in Action (IDeA).

The In Transit Studio participated in the international architecture and public administration competition by proposing new solutions for the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan. The winning proposal was selected from

342 Proposals by 700 Participants from 150 Universities in 34 Countries

The winning team presented their project at the 2017 IDeA in Action Summit in New York City in April 2017. Other speakers included representatives from the United Nations, diplomats, architects, and academics from Harvard University, Columbia University ,and NYU.
