SOCIAL SPACES

Integration takes place at the neighborhood level. Designing inclusion - physical structures facilitating human interaction - form a crucial part of building safe, resilient, and sustainable communities.

In the Fall-19 semester the In Transit Studio will explore how spatial and physical structures - combined with good programming - contribute to the creation of safe places that may lead to interaction, integration and cultural exchange benefitting both migrants and their host communities. The studio will develop architectural typologies with mixed and public programs that create livable urban environments in the Stovner district of Oslo.
