Holmlia is a neighborhood in Oslo. The area was planned and developed in the late 1970s and early 80s as part of a suburban social housing scheme. Today Holmlia has a large immigration population and many new arrivals have settled or wish to settle in the area.

In Transit 4 Studio worked with grassroot initiatives, such as ‘We love Holmlia’ and ‘Folkeaksjon for Områdeløft Holmlia’, and engaged with key institutions and members of the local populations. Based on this, the studio developed projects aiming to facilitate interaction, integration and cultural exchange between different demographic groups.
